Sponsoring yourself in new business?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone heard of or had experience with a foreigner setting up a new business in HK, then sponsoring a visa for himself through the company?

I have a friend that's exploring several options to move to HK. He currently is self employed (sole proprietor) and could start his business in HK as a brand new company. As an alternative, his brother is in the same line of business but has a fully formed corporation, and he could set up a HK branch office where my friend would run it, if that makes a legal difference in HK.

Also, can a person work two jobs with a work visa? For instance if he was sponsored by company A (be it his own company or someone else's), can he work for company B on the side (part time) to make extra income without having company B sponsor him?

Thanks very much for your help!
