Hi Could anyone give me advice on radiation-free/less cell phones? I’m now using the one made by G Hanz. They are using the BioChip technology which is effective to block the effects of cellular phone radiation (they said so). Unfortunately, the battery of my Ghanz phone is getting old and has not functioned well. Even worse, its HK agent/disruptor (i.e. The ChineseClub) has closed down and I can’t buy a new G Hanz phone or have any maintenance support. I really need one that emits less radiation as I’ll easily get a headache even just talking on phone for 10 mins. Any suggestions? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Rainbow

Rainbow, There's no such thing as a radiation-free cellphone. The way they work is through emitting radiation. (It's like asking for a microwave oven that doesn't use microwaves.) Cellphones are regulated about the amount of radiation they emit so all cellphones are 'safe'. There are no confirmed studies that show a direct correlation between mobile phone use and ill-health, illnesses, etc. However, there are some precautionary measures you can take along the lines of don't use your mobile so long. I don't believe those stick-on disks help either, but I don't want to get too technical on you. As to why you get a headache after talking 10 mins on the phone is beyond me. To summarise, all phones are more or less equally safe (or harmful) nowadays as to make no difference.

As chris says, a cellphone that doesn't emit radiation is as useful as an oven that doesn't get hot! Any new model cellphone is safe. Don't worry about it.

i reckon it's the battery that's emitting heat that makes ur head feel weird afterwards? my phone gets hot after i chat but i use hands-free for any conversation longer than 5 mins. and mobiles are just like anything else, laptops etc

well, let's put it this way, its a risk we take not really knowing where we are heading to. radiation will kill, over long term. studies might prove otherwise, but well, energy emitting from a machine is going to end up affecting human cells somewhere.. and that effect accumulated over long term is either going to mutate a person or simply destroy the cells making up the person. for short term usage, some ppl are more sensitive and they get headache easier i suppose. so its a matter of balancing convenience versus your appetite for risk. 8-)

Why not use a hands-free for your phone? That way you won't be having your radio transmitter/receiver (i.e. mobile phone) right next to your ear. I've heard people say that it helps a lot when they get headaches because of using mobile phones (or even cordless phones).

raidiaton less cell phones Thank you very much for all your views. As advised, I'll get one with less radiation emitted and use a hands-free. BTW, I find the links below are useful for checking the radiation level of the cell phones:- http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6602_7-5020355-1.html http://www.sarshield.com/english/rad...rt-samsung.htm http://www.cellphoneradiationprotect...level-01.shtml

You may worry about your phone pumping out 1W of power. Did you know what GSM telcos in HK are allowed to blast up to 10W of power per square meter? This is not an issue on 900Mhz, 1.8Ghz, but when you are on (3G) 2.1Ghz, you are getting pretty close to frequencies that cook you... And even if they don't cook you (the body has great cool mechanism), who knows that the long term impact is to your cells. 3G is very good for us. Then you have wifi, 2.4Ghz, which will cook you if you have enough watage. Everyone is using it, shoving a laptop on you groin that does wifi also is not consider unsafe, but do we know? 100 years ago we did now that bathing with Uranium salts was not good. We have come by leaps and bounds but, I take the conservative view that we don't know everything. Go on the Cisco website and look at the health hazard prevention measures. I sell tonnes of networking equipment to the ISPs in HK. We don't have wifi in the office, nor do I have it at home. The day I have kids, they will be getting wired on cat5. Finally we have P4 cpus cranking sucking up 60W of power a again 2.4Ghz (also known as a low power microwave). Whilst in the US many PC's have to pass FCC regulations of radiation leakage in HK when you buy a hand built clone there are no regulations. Paranoid? I think myself as someone who is conservative.

Electromagnetic radiation from phones, TV, computors, etc effects the Acupunture meridians especially the Central meridian. Some people are more sensitive than others and they will be affected more. Muscle response testing is a quick way to see if it is affecting you. There will be free testing available at the Lamma Funday on 22nd Oct.
