When I was in HK, a few years ago, my hosts took me to a fancy hotel for a champagne Sunday brunch. I have totally forgotten the name of the place. Does anybody know?

There are so many... in the top tier:

Grand Hyatt
Intercontinental (may have been called the Regent then)
Conrad
Marriott
Shangri-La (HK or Kowloon)
The Peninsula

(joined these days by the Four Seasons)

Below that a whole heap of 4* hotels that it could have been.

We'd need some more clues to be able to identify it specifically.

It must have been Intercontinental, the first time I tasted lobster and one of the first times for sushi and dumplings. Wonder if theres anybody to accompany me on the first of Oct during my next visit. Eating alone is a drag...

Yes, the Regent, as it was called then, had an excellent fare on offer with an unobstructed panaromic view of Hong Kong island. Pricey but made you feel special. Don't know what the going rate is now.

You might want to hook up with these guys: http://www.fcchk.org if you fancy hanging out with colleagues based in HK, although I'm not sure if it has any reciprocal arrangments with similar clubs in Finland...
