Question Anyone here does In-line skating?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew good places to skate in HK. Especially on Kowloon, N.T. areas. Also wondering if anyone does slalom skating or any freestyle stuff. I would like to get into those areas as well. I own two pairs of skates, one for going the distance and the fsk for some next door kind of stuff.

Do let me know.

Good luck finding a place- HK seems to be very skate-unfriendly.

There is a small skate park next to the racecourse near the Happy Valley/CWB border. I can't remember exactly where it is, sorry.

jgl is absolutely right. You will hardly see anyone skating in Hong Kong. I have seen one though in the last three years.

Where I live in tung chung, you're not aloud to bike, skate, play with any kinds of racket, no pets, no fun allowed , etc...

Depending where you live. If you go to Victoria park, there is a designated place for roller skaters.

I used to go to Taikoo Shing when I was young...they had or might still have a huge indoor skating rink there.

I have not been for a while. Shipped all my roller skates and blades to France.

That's rather daunting news.

I did browse around geoexpat and also the web. I did find some places to skate but they weren't many. There's apparently a good place to skate from Shatin along the channel. Has anyone ever been there?

It's actually a split bike and pedestrian path. Some parts are not that smooth. Beware that bikes will be shooting along there at a good 30km/h and you do not want to be in their way! But no harm in trying it out.....!

Thumbs up Yes, along the river

I used to live by the river in Shatin. When I walked along the water, I thought of my skates.

In a month or so, I am coming back to HK. This time I am bringing a pair of skates--and also a helmet.

Oh, sorry, that's me... I rollerblade so fast that you think it's a bike. Haha!

I like the route by the race course. Really smooth and great for racing past the 50 metres per minute bikes.

Go blade!
