nice restaurant to impress the guy

hi there
this is the first time writing here! nice to meet you, people!

by the way, ive just been here a year and i am not really good to take people. coz normally my friends take me.
i have been with my BF for 7 years and we gonna have a anniversary end of this month. i was thinking to go for a trip but i prefer to go for a long term not short break, kinda thing. so i decided to go for a drink and dinner.
my BF is local HK but he hasnt lived in HK for 7 years and he is in china now. so he has no idea about HK. i am hoping that i can take him nice place to impress him!

could anyone help me?! kindly?!
and i have one question! what guys look for restaurant?! i mean what they expect? taste?! atmosphere? or it is not a gender issue?!
Please help!

Thanks,

Lei Garden in IFC is pretty good. You will need a reservation.

Coco Choco,

If he's been your bf for 7 years you should know what type of food and restaurants he likes. There's plenty of choices in HK so if you say, for example, Italian and give us a price range then maybe we'd be able to help you.

Like what's his favourite food?

Or just take him ... to a hotel buffet

coco choco, are you able to read chinese? if the answer is yes, you should try this website: http://www.openrice.com, well, even if you can't read it, there are LOTS of reviews about just every restaurant in HK. good luck impressing the dude! maybe you could also consider cooking yourself?
