maybe you want to try some employment agency. there's one called GOOD HANDS EMPLOYMENT AGENCY in wan chai. we got an indonesian maid thru that agency.

we just gave them the requirements and they proposed a number of maids to us, then let us choose which one we want. process is fairly easy. if you want, you can give them a call or drop by at their office.

My sister's agent charges HK$888 for overseas Filipina maid, HK$1688 for overseas Thailand maid and HK$1988 for overseas Indonesian maid. If you need her contact number, send me a PM and I'll gladly give it to you. Immediately available maid's processing fees are higher though.

She's ok. She has been my sister's agent for more than 3 years now.

Live-out maids, I'm afraid are not ok with the Immigration Department. You may ask your maid to share a room with your kids. That is acceptable with the Immigration Department.
