Welcome to Hong Kong

Hola, Perla,

Although I'm not Latino, but I spent a great amount of time around Mexicans and their families. I really miss hanging around my friends, if you want someone to show you around in HK, I will be more than happy to!

Ay mi dios, Perla, ojala que se puede cocinar!

I'm hoping she can cook. We're in dire need of good Mexican food here. Taco Loco is alright, but many feel the quality has slipped somewhat of late...There's a Mexican food promotion going on in HK right now, though. I have to check HK Magazine again. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Apparently they are flying in ingredients from Mexico just for this month. I want some real Mexican food...not no salsa ranchero with cheddar...

Hi there, Perla!!! (not sure if one can write Spanish here...)
When are you arriving? I'm from Monterrey too.

Jayin--> The things being organised by the consulate kinda suck. They are waaaay too gourmet-like and therefore end up missing the genuine factor because, simply put, real Mexican cuisine IS NOT that fancy at all. Geesh, there weren't even tortillas or guacamole in last night's dinner.
Anyway, there's a restaurant in the Mid Levels that is sort of decent if, and only if, you know what to order.

Mexcian fooooooooood...........

hcueva, where is this place you are talking about? I tried Taco Loco, I thought they were alright, but then again, I wasn't really expecting much either, I doubt I can ever eat home-made tortillas, and drink horchata again...anyone know how to make horchata?

Yeah, but it will definitely taste different than the ones you can get in a Taco stand...

Jay, where are you from?

Why is it so hard to perfect horchata? I tried it a number of times with my roommate back in Chicago and it turned out tasty but just slightly different. I miss horchata and tacos from family owned mexican places. If only there is horchata in Hong Kong..... Can't believe you had to remind me of my horchata craving jayinhongkong!
