Ex-Londoner, acclimatising.....!!!

Hi all GeoExpats!

Just moved to HK from London. Only here for short work-related trip (3-4 months). Never been to HK before and really want to make the most of it- am loving the chaos so far (though, what is this weather about- worse than London??!!). My work is based in the NT and is medical related, so hasn't got the whole business related post-work drinks culture going (which I miss!!!). I'm living in HK Island. Anyone else moved over from London and keeping the evening social scene alive, then it would be great to hear from you. My friend used to DJ out here and said there was a pretty cool music scene - though cutting through the pop is proving difficult! Just so you know....I'm early 20's, female - would have added to one of the age-related threads but was worried about getting it in the right place as there are so many......!

Anyway, hope to hear from some of you shortly. Also, anyone going to the rockit HK festival. Not quite Glastonbury, but sounds cool all the same.

Hey - Welcome to HK! I too am a female ex-Londoner although I am a bit (some might say alot ) older than you .... . If I were you, I would definately join any Geoexpat event regardless of age just to get out and about and meeting people. I don't think many people really pay much attention to a bit of an age difference. If you are stuck for things to do, drop me a pm and you will be welcome to join me and my slightly older friends for drinks / a movie some time. P.S. - try not to worry about the weather - it doesn't usually suck quite this much!
