Cool part .. looks like they're getting into the home theater / media extender market -- which is something that everyone .. microsoft, sony and their family pets want to get into.

New iPod is really underwhelming. I guess a battery life bump and size bump are respectable though. Everyone probably just got way to caught up in all the hype.

And the new nano...WHY? I thought everyone agreed that the iPod mini was one of the greatest design disasters in recent memory. I guess people like their choices though.

You might want to check your sources there, the iPod mini was the most successful model out of the entire iPod range: 60% sales. Apple are now trying to leverage that success on the smaller nano form factor.

The sales figures have nothing to do with how well designed or functionable the item was. I'm willing to bet that most people bought it because it was a) smaller than the hulking behemoths that ipods used to be and b) they were more affordable. I think Apple totally misinterpreted those sales figures to mean that people actually thought the design looked good 9_9

Then again I'm a little biased

We ship tonnes of ipods .. there is still a strong demand ..
The shift is from developed to developing countries ... as is for most items ..

Shutensa .. any good alternative to ipod .. am planning to jump into the mp3/4 bandwagon ..
