Pizzeria Milano

I tried Pizzeria Milano today for lunch. Took a medium ? la carte Salumi pizza (salami) for just under $120 with a large coke. It was ok but not to my taste actually. The complimentary tomato soup was delicious though.

The three of us actually salted the pizzas since it was a bit bland. The bread was not in my flavour either, a tiny bit too sweet. It gets a three on a five grade scale. Would be a bit different sitting outside on the 9th floor rooftop area, cold day today.

Pizza Express is still in the lead for me. Have eaten pizza there four times now. Pretty good Ceasar salads too.

Hmm interesting thread, food for thought (no pun intended).

Had pizzas at Isola (or Isolar or whatever its called) at IFC this weekend. Very, very good, nice thin pizzas. Highly recommended.

I like Pizza Express too. Very yummy. Can't deal with thick pizzas. Theirs are really good.

anyone tried Sergio Ristorante Pizzeria, Catic Plaza, at the corner of Causeway Road and Shelter Street, across from Vic Park and near Central Library?

Real Italian pizzas! Anyone found anything that resembles a proper woodfired Italian pizza in Hong Kong? Simple fillings: a nice margherita, quattro fromagi, prosciutto crudo etc?

Everything you seem to get here is ridicolous fillings like tandoori chicken, barbecue sauce etc. thick bases, too much fuss and too little taste.

Just came back from Thailand and I could easily find good pizzas there, wood fired with proper Italian mozzarella and thin charred, crisp base with nice salty and garlicky tomato sauce, almost like you would get in Italy (these places in Thailand had Italian owners btw).

Any idea if there is a place in Hong Kong where you can find anything like this?

Tired of the Americanized (California pizza kitchen, sweet base yuck!, Peperoni's OK, for American)/Australianized (Wild fire, ridicolous fillings! Barbeque sauce, say no more)/British (Pizza Express, best in HK, so far, imho)

Do your own;doesn't take long and tastes fantastic.

the link below shows how to get to wood fired type temperatures. Oh and make your own dough.
