Couple questions ok....so i visited Park Island and fell in love. It is so quiet and clean and gorgeous compared to whampoa gardens. The trade off is obviously the commuting time...but: 1. How long of a commute is it from Lohu to PI? What kind of transportation? 2. If the weather is bad, my gf wouldn't want to use ferry. So how would she get to WanChai without being on boat too much? How long? 3. Is there any direct shuttles to TST-East? 4. It seemed like there was about 2 restaurants....is this really the case? 5. I found a really nice flat for about 9K = balcony, full sea view, 750 sq. ft., 24th floor. Is this good? 6. They said pool, gym, tennis, etc are all HK$10 each visit. Is there a monthly or yearly membership? cause we would probably go 3-4 days a week. Also, is the 10 good for all day? or only a few hours? 7. Anything similar to Park Islands resort style area but closer to TST? and still cheap?

Mattstewart, I'll try to answer your answers as much as I know. 1. How long of a commute is it from Lohu to PI? What kind of transportation? To get to Lu Wo, catch a shuttle bus to Kwai Fong and then the mtr to Kowloon Tong and switch to KCR East line. Not sure how long it's going to take. Haven't done it before. 2. If the weather is bad, my gf wouldn't want to use ferry. So how would she get to WanChai without being on boat too much? How long? As far as I know, if the weather is bad, the shuttle buses stop as the Tsingma bridge closes. So in other words, the ferry is the best. I was told that the ride wouldn't be that bad. The ferry stops at typhoon signal 8. 3. Is there any direct shuttles to TST-East? Not sure what's TST-East. To get to TST, I normally catch shuttle to Kwai Fong and then the train. 4. It seemed like there was about 2 restaurants....is this really the case? Think there's about 4 restaurants in the estate. There are more restaurants in the village. Probably about 5 or 6 or even more. The jap serves pretty good sashimi and sushi. 5. I found a really nice flat for about 9K = balcony, full sea view, 750 sq. ft., 24th floor. Is this good? Is it furnished? I got mine for 8.4k -furnished, balcony, full sea view, 710 or something like that. Try to push it down a little or ask for furniture. 6. They said pool, gym, tennis, etc are all HK$10 each visit. Is there a monthly or yearly membership? cause we would probably go 3-4 days a week. Also, is the 10 good for all day? or only a few hours? There's a monthly pass. Not sure how much, but I think it's definitely less than 200 7. Anything similar to Park Islands resort style area but closer to TST? and still cheap?[/quote] Not sure on that Hope that helps!

Please see my answers inline. 1. How long of a commute is it from Lohu to PI? What kind of transportation? It may take you about 1 hour. What you need to do is to take a shuttle from Park Island to Tsing Yi Station, then take an express bus 279X from Tsing Yi to Sheung Shui KCR, and then take 1 stop from Sheung Shui KCR to Lohu. 2. If the weather is bad, my gf wouldn't want to use ferry. So how would she get to WanChai without being on boat too much? How long? Your gf should take a shuttle to Tsing Yi MTR or Kwai Fong MTR to get to Wanchai. 3. Is there any direct shuttles to TST-East? There should not no such direct shuttle bus to TST East. You may need to take a shuttle to Kwai Fong or Tsing Yi to get to TST East. Also, please see the below link for details of Park Island Transportation: http://www.pitcl.com.hk/eng/html/about.htm 4. It seemed like there was about 2 restaurants....is this really the case? I am not sure about this one. You can ask your property agent or your prospective landlord. 5. I found a really nice flat for about 9K = balcony, full sea view, 750 sq. ft., 24th floor. Is this good? I think the deal is not bad. But that 9K has to include everything, such as management fee, rates, etc. 6. They said pool, gym, tennis, etc are all HK$10 each visit. Is there a monthly or yearly membership? cause we would probably go 3-4 days a week. Also, is the 10 good for all day? or only a few hours? I believe that you don't need to pay a monthly or yearly membership. But I am not sure if $10 is for all day or one activity. Again, you can ask your landlord or property agent. 7. Anything similar to Park Islands resort style area but closer to TST? and still cheap? I don't think so. Last edited by greentea; 10-09-2006 at 10:00 PM.

Hi Matt, The information given to by greentea in your 1-3 question are correct. About your question no. 5, will that is reasonable but the number of the flat floor is a bit problem. Because you know chinese people were very much belief in fung shui, so people who knows fung shui usually don't like to live in 24th floor or in any convination with 4 or in the number of 4because 24th floor in chinese means "easily die", so people who live on that floor will be in trouble. This is only an advised to you but it's up to you if you believe it or not. Then your question no. 6, usually if you visit the clubhouse and used any of their facilities, you have to pay and the $10 is for 1 hour but if you want to use the clubhouse as often as you want and in longer hours then you can apply for the VIP membership but i don't know how much in PI they charged but in our building its only $300 per month. Question no. 7, are you oftenly go to Lo Wu (Shenzhen) or are you working there? If yes, i want to advise you live in Fanling, N.T., it's very near to LoWu, it's only 2 station(5mins.) if you take KCR train. And i can recommend our building for you to live. Its very similar to PI but its not a sea view, its a mountain view. The monthly rent here is around $6 to 8k including the management fee and with kitchen appliances. With private clubhouse, swimming pool, BBQ site and lots of sports facilities. The security here is very safety, the transportation is very convenient. But you need to travel one hour to Central by train. It have shopping mall, very clean wet market, supermarkets, restaurants, public sports center and a big library. So, if you want to take a look, i can take you here. Just leave message if you interested. Beth
