Is it possible for someone who is not a resident of HK but wants to teach english in primary schools there? My friend is of chinese descent and has a bachelor of education (primiary) from australia.

Sad but from what has been discussed on this board the schools prefer to hire a white teacher over a Chinese teacher. Disgusting.

As long as your friend is a native English speaker, that's sufficient. However, your friend needs to have a status or a job sponsorship in order to work in HK.

Well, i got hire as a NET by EMB and i'm of chinese descent and from Spore and got my bachelor and master from Australia. So it is obviously possible. By the way, that was my first and only interview in HK looking for a teaching job.
