HELP! (with units of measurement)

From wikipedia:

Billion may mean:

1 000 000 000, i.e. one thousand million: used by most English-speaking countries (American and usual modern British meaning)
1 000 000 000 000, i.e. one million million: used by most other countries outside Asia (older British meaning)
for the history of these two discrepant meanings, see long and short scales

Wow, I didnt know that 1B in the US is diff from 1B elsewhere. OK,
now what is the correct def of 1 billion in the following countries:

S. Korea
Singapore
HK
Taiwan
China

Thanks

So you are sure that everyone defines 1B as 1ooo ooo ooo? Stakes are high for being correct on this. Thanks.

If in doubt spell it out with all the zero's. Don't use the abbreviation.

max > what that guy said is correct. at one time under the brit system billion used to have 12 zeros. but i think conventionally that has been phased out. no way for me to prove that its definitely correct though
