i have issues with space and age of the building also. Found a few decent one that doesn;t cost arm and leg. North Point Island Place 5 years old, alot of Japanese live here. 4 MTR stop away from Wan Chai. Garden, swimming pool. No gym, but ocean view if u live up top. Another one in Fortress Hill, don;t know the name of the building, 2 years old, 3 MTR stop away from wan chai. Inhouse dry clean, gym, blal blal tennis court.... ect They both pretty new, and the size of the room is pretty decent, near MTR. We end up go for the North Point one as it have bigger kitchen and have oven also. I still have picture of both building if u want |

| send me a email at LillyPham@hotmail.com and I will send u pictures. Both building have either 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom. I do believe the Fortress Hill one also offer 1 bedroom. Not sure how much u looking to pay. Price can be varies, depend on which floor you living on, also how many bedroom. As for us, we contacted the agent, and she take us to see the apartment. And yes, you do have to pay the agent. Most of these apartments are half furnish, meaning it come with bed, mattress, sofa,table...ect.. might not be too pretty looking tho. Do you know any one in HK? If not, you can first rent one of those full service apartment for short term, such as a week. And during that week, work with the agent and go see the apartment. What's your main concern about the apartment? As for us, we just want a new building and bigger room, since allot of apartment in HK look like a little box. I recall u mentioned about the age of the apartment building is quite old in HK. But keep in mind, the building might be old, but most the time, the owner renovate it before renting it out. So the apartment can look shiny new, but the building itself is old. Meaning you still have to deal with old & slow elevator and stinky stairway I can forward you the number of our agent if that help. Maybe you should make a list of those things which matter the most to you when it come to renting a apartment, and make sure the agent know this clearly before taking you around and show u the apartments. amount looking to spend do you want to stay close to the expat area or anywhere is fine? Ocean view or mountain view or not matter at all? area with great school for kids? near mtr and public transportations? near work? ect.... BTW: the rate for those apartments we looks at both building varies from HKD$ 1600-2200. But this is the rate back last year when SARS was happening. Might a little more now. I think the best way is to contact the agent. Let me know if i can be any futher help |

| Thanks FallingStar for your reply to my question about salary/tax/expenses in the other thread. Very useful info. Hope my move will be finalized soon so I can start making specific plans. I'm also interested in places in Northpoint. Please let me know if you have agent info convenient at hand you could recommend. I looked at the link to Le Sommet on Fortress Hill Road. It looks gorgeous, but my gosh it's US$1.3M to buy!! Welcome to HK, I guess. |

| Try Kowloon There seems to be some nice places in and around Kowloon, but I don't know your restrictions. There have been several openings around Canton Road, but Ho Man Tin, Kings Park is a nice area. |
