Locations recommendations for my situation

My wife and I will be moving to Hong Kong this summer. I will be coming over this week to look for office locations (4/22). For logistics reasons, we will most likely set up the office in the Kowloon area. Most of the threads I have read recommend living in areas on HK island or places like Discovery Bay. I'm looking for a rather convenient commute (and will not have a car). Any recommendations for where to live on the Kowloon side? Are the New Territories a bad option without a car?

Thanks for your time.

Where abouts in the Kowloon area?

Your best bets are finding an office and a residential area which have easy access to the MTR / KCRC and you'll be ok.

I'm actually coming this weekend to help determine the office location (among other things), so there are still a lot of unknowns. I'm hoping to balance the office/residence location decision. Via the internet I've been looking at places like Beacon Heights (for a residence). How would this compare from a quality standpoint to options in the Midlevels and surrounding area (or is it a building by building comparison that is relevant)? Are there any expats in areas like this?

A building by building comparison is perhaps more relevant. There are plenty of dumps in Mid levels ...

If you're in this weekend, you'll be able to take a look for yourself.
