Hello,

I recently got the Smartone-Vodafone Mobile Broadband PC card for my laptop. Works good in HK and I am pretty happy with it.

I travel to Shenzhen frequently for work and would like to know if this PC card can be unlocked and I put a china mobile sim in it. I tried my China Mobile SIM which can do GPRS on my phone, but the card did not seem to recognize it.

Hopefully someone has some experience with these PC cards and non-vodafone sims.

It is unfortunately locked. Not sure if the Mongkok shops have figured out how to unlock....

They have been beaten down into unlocking the cards in New Zealand .. never know, if you ask and a few hundred other folks ask, they might see what is wrong with their policy... specially since you've paid full price for the card.
