| Help! Need lots of info! Hello all, I would appreciate any help or words of advice about my situation. I'm American. My wife lives in mainland China. I'm currently going to school in the US to be a motorcycle mechanic. My goal is to move to somewhere in Asia so that me and my wife don't have to wait for the US immigration crap. So, the idea we came up with is for us to live in Shenzhen and I would commute to Hong Kong everyday by ferry or train. That way, she wouldn't have to worry about getting permission to live in Hong Kong (which from what I gather, can be a real pain in the ass). Now, my main question is, assuming that I can get a job in Hong Kong and get the necessary work visa (or whatever), would I be able to make the commute back and forth from Shenzhen to Hong Kong? Anyone know? Thanks, Michael |

No. You would have to go through immigration procedures every day and right now the US of A has not really made too many friends within the Chinese immigration departments. Might be easier for you to move to China and perhaps spend some time learning Mandarin / teaching english. I really don't see that large a demand for US trained motorcycle docs. |
