Gay nightlife in HK
I went to Propaganda last Saturday and it was allright (aside from the little bouncer dude not wanting to let me back in after a long line-up). I don't get it. Is that standard in HK? I mean I paid the cover charge and just walked out for a few minutes, and when I came back, the bouncer says you have to wait in the long line up (with ALL the people who hadn't even paid yet) do get back in. I mean, I had a stamp n everything. WHat a joke.

Anyways, rant aside, I'd like to know if HK has any happening gay nightlife during the week? Or is it just Saturday that's pumping?

i went to bliss a few weeks ago. it was alright to me. i heard there's a gay night in finds called ice. i haven't checked it out yet. my friends also recommend m bar in sheung wan. it's a relatively new one. the two popular free gay magazine g and dim sum feature lots of nightlife updates. i wouldn't say it's a kind of bible for going out, but it's informative enough. plus, the models in g magazine are extremely hot. btw, i am a straight local female.

i went to bliss on a saturday. the atmosphere was relaxing, nice techno music rather than the mainstream hip hop. i went down to the basement, chilled there and watch the guys dancing, hitting on each other. on the night i went, there were actually more foreign guys than local ones. the two magazines i mentioned are available at bliss too. there are other gay activities organized by bliss, like speed dating... i am not sure if they serve food.

the decor are nice, with theme colors: red and black. the layout is pretty much like before (is it NU it used to be? i am pretty sure i'd been there before it became bliss)
they have a special cocktail memu, naming the cocktails after some famous movies. well, they are not as tasty as they sound though. the fatal attraction tastes... oh, well

^yup, bliss was club nu before... and liquid before that!...

and out of any drinks at bliss, i'd recommend the chocolate cocktails. besides that - well it's an aquired taste.

to be honest, there's not much of a scene build up during the week, but places like rice and M-bar are always open till about 2pm... but that's about it unless there's a special party going on on a thursday/friday ...
