Expatriate has pissed of a few people
How do you exit the MTR?

Do you wait until all locals rushed in and got their seat? Or do you just go out?

I found it always quite fun in Central, when the train got into the station, the doors opened, and the locals rushed in, and then bounced back because I was standing there with a colleague. Then we waited, until the way was clear to get off. Our way to have fun after a hard day's work.

I just go. There's a path clearly marked for exiting, and there's even the announcement saying to let people off first. If people are too stupid to understand, that's their problem. Luckily I've got enough mass to push through

us and them!!

if you have an identity card you are a local;so act like one.
If you have not been here long enough to pick up the finer aspects-you'll learn soon enough

Basically its you first and everyone else last, and queues always are headed by you.

Locals?

I believe in something... I believe that people can change and that I can change some of them.

In the MTR I "play rugby": I just push people standing in the wrong place (on my way where I rush out). I am not trying to hurt anyone. I just want these people standing in the wrong place to ask themselves "oh why did this gweilo do that? Another crazy gweilo? Or did I do something wrong?"

One thing though, unless you are sure they are locals, I would not assume they are. They could be from the Mainland who knows?

Once I almost pushed a friend of mine (she is half Chinese) instead I just told her "you know you are not supposed to stand here".

I'm local, but I don't like to rush in and get the seats. I would like to standing on the train.

I'm not a local but could pass for a local. BTW if anyone pushes me I'd shove them to the ground in a heartbeat.
