Taxes on Bonuses From the IRD website, it appears that HK does not have a higher tax rate for bonuses. It seems that bonuses are just lumped in together with the salary. Is this correct or did I miss something? If this is correct, does the US also lump everything together since that's how HK would report it to the IRS? Or do they differentiate bonus from salary as they do domestically and tax the bonus at a higher rate?

For the HK taxes you are correct. No idea on US taxes - sorry.

From my own experience all commission and bonuses are added onto your base salary for US taxes. So, you pay tax on the total package (salary plus bonus).
