sending non-netvigator email w/ netvigator

Hello,

I can't seem to be able to send any of my emails from all my non-netvigator accounts with my netvigator connection, using my apple mail client....

Any ideas what the settings should be? I've configured it to send using mail.netvigator.com

server 25

not using SSL

thanks a million!

Not sure what KIA's link says, but I had the same problem (and couldn't get an answer via their site) and a phone call to them solved the problem in less than 5 minutes.

I did what KIA's link said, but it's refusing my password, so I think I'll end up calling them....

Blocking SMTP and port 25

This is because Netvigator blocks all SMTP traffic (to prevent spammers from abusing their network).

If they didn't a spammer would easily send spam through any SMTP server and Netvigator would be "punished" by the authorities.

The OP is ahead of you here, having reconfigured to use Netvigator's SMTP server. KnowItAll's link shows, albeit not very clearly, in order to use this relay service you need to provide authentication details too.

1st: enable SMTP authentication:

2nd: enter Netvigator login details:

(Tsuiwah, Why didn't you share here what the solution was??)

No luck on the telephones for me. They told me to use "ndsmtp.netvigator.com" as outgoing server, which didn't work at all. They also kept telling me port 25 is blocked, yet when I asked "which port should I use then?" they couldn't give me an answer. Mr Moo thanks for the screenshots above, but I suspect PC users don't have to worry about filling in the Port numbers.

I got my answer from Shri of this here forums. Decided to sign up since Shri assures me Geoexpats don't bite ;-) I know this thread is 2yrs old, but I hope someone benefits from this!
Pictures attached.

I was concerned that my mails would show it's from "me@netvigator.com" but it doesn't..I tested it and it shows sender as "me@mydomain.com".
