Question on extension of stay

Wonder anyone can help me on this question?

I have a working visa and with my family members on dependent visa in HK. The nature of my work requires me to travel across the boader to Shenzhen to visit my company's manufacturing facility all the time. Is this going to create problems for me and my family when our one year of stay is up for extension? I heard someone talking about I have to be in HK for at least 180 days in a year to sponsor my family for dependent visa. Any comments or suggestions?

Thanks.

You should better ask the immigration about this, but I believe that as long as you travel for business purpose and you can prove that you're residing in HK (your company pays you in HK, you have a bank account and bills to pay here) it shouldn't be a problem. I have friends on a working visa as well who are frequently sent by their companies outside HK and never had problems.

cerberus is an unknown quantity at this point.
this shouldn't be an issue as business trips do not qualify as interruption of residency, nor does any other form of travel for that matter. it justh as to be reasonably short per trip, and accompanied with proof of return (which should be easy since you live in HK...).

I agree with cerberus. I travel extensivly to the mainland due to the nature of my job and an extension of stay has never been a problem (I applied so far for 2 extensions). I am usually gone 3-4 days each week.
