Question Tax for work visa holders

Hi,

I came here in work visa and getting 20k per month. What will be the tax part of my salary?

Is there any I can get tax returns showing that I spent for my work? like buying a laptop, books like that.....

Thanks in advance
Regards
Immanuel

Thanks for the info.

When I use the caluclator, I have the following concers.

1. It gives me some 200,000 allowances. Is it applicable to all, or only hong kong residents ?
2. It asks whether married or single, if married, does it required the wife should be in Hong Kong?

regards
Immanuel

Absolutely .. your dependants have to be in HK.

Do keep in mind that around 70% of the people in HK do not pay taxes and HK$20K is below the median earnings, so I'd be surprised if you had to pay taxes.

P.S. Yes, the allowances are applicable to everyone (not just permanent residents)
