9/11 movies -- Are we and the whole world ready for this?

just saw the trailers of two upcoming movies about 9/11 on the trailer channel. when 9/11 happened, we all knew there would be movies about it. viewing the trailers alone made me sad. after 5 years, are we and the whole world ready to see a few film recalling all our emotions?

United 93 is crap .. was on DVD like 1 month from its release date. Not sure why it is even being released in HK.

The Oliver stone movie on the other hand is a pretty decent movie from what I've seen in the previews / reviews.

the trailer looks nice though, looks very touching. i read the reviews for the world trade center as well. it looks brilliant. but i am not quite sure if i can take the emotion impact.

Review ratings based on www.rottentomatoes.com

United 93 - 90% positive reviews, based out of 177 reviews total

World Trade Center - 70% positive reviews, based out of 186 reviews total.

Unfortunately, the "best" movies aren't necessarily the most successful movies.

We watched United 93 last night and I thought it was an excellent documentary of the events. I appreciated how they used non-famous actors in it, which made the people seem more real. What was shocking was to see that the US Military had no grips on the event and were way behind the control towers on everything. I thought the people on the plane were depicted as very real, varied reactions- just like you'd get in a real crowd scare situation. I think this movie might also work better on the big screen than on a small TV.

And yeah, to answer minmin's initial post - it is emotional but people have made moives about every emotional tragic event from AIDS death to JFK being shot. I think it's a good way to educate the children of the future.
