Best Graphics Card for Games/Websites

I would appreciate if you can provide me any recommended brands and technical specs of a graphics card as I want to use it for new games as well as for website creation/viewing. Something that is good, reliable, and competitively price. Thank you.

I want to replace my current video card.

Website creation / viewing: Standard card on the intel motherboard with share memory is ok ... seriously .... seriously .... spend more time looking at a good DVI based LCD monitor.

I can get by with the onboard nForce display for strategy game like Command & Conquer. But it becomes a bit too slow for shooter-type 3D games as it would drop frames.

Depends on your budget, graphix card can be expensive. From a low-end ATI 1300 selling @HKD5XX to a faster mid-range ATI 1600 @HKD7XX. Or all the way to dual SLI setup $$.

It's a good idea to go to the computer mall and check out the current pricing as new models come along, retailers would cut the price of the older stock and you could find a bargain.

cerberus is an unknown quantity at this point.
ATI X1950XT and nvidia G7950GT et al are all fuutre-proofed for the next couple of years and will run anything with full settings. however, they'll break the bank at at least 3K realistically.

get an x1800xt or G7800GTX...a year old and 95 percent of current top models in terms of power. quite economical. may be hard to find them, tho. and everything right now is in PCI-express. AGP's are scaled down or older models.

If you want to play the latest games with top settings i would recommend a X1900XT/ X1900XTX (i just bought one of those for myself and LOVING it) or a 7900GT/7900GTX if you prefer Nvidia.
I would definately not bother getting the latest X1950XTX / 7950GTX as the extra price you pay is not worth the added performance.
In terms of futurity, i expect that card to last a good 2 years. I bought a 9800pro back when it was a top card and it's lasted me almost 2 years now so very good value for money in my opinion.
However, if you just want a middle range card with value more in mind, then you could any of the models just below these high end models. When it comes to graphics cards, the more you spend, the longer it will last and the better it performs.
In terms of web based applications, a graphics card won't add much to performance. The speed is based primarily on processor and RAM.
Also be aware that an excellent graphics card with an average processor/low ram will not be able to perform as well as it can do. It is possible for CPU/Ram to be the bottleneck in terms of performance.
