My sister-in-law uses Skype to Indonesia, lists various rates:

Code:
Destination : HKD excl. VAT HKD incl. VAT

Indonesia HKD 0.731 HKD 0.841
Indonesia - Mobile HKD 1.219 HKD 1.402
Indonesia-Jakarta HKD 0.322 HKD 0.370

Most phonecards will offer better rates than Skype, although you need to be careful with per-call connection charges and so on. Headline rates tend to be below HK$1/min.

IDD & phonecards use VOIP which can be more than Skype. From Europe and the US its certainly cheaper, but you might be able to find better within Asia though. For example 1stphonecard.com:

Prepaid card: $22.50, rounded to minute billing and valid for 60 days. 8.33ยข / min = 0.647 HKD/min which is double Skype.

What is Skype if it isn't the quintessential VOIP solution?

Shows a Indonesia targetted calling card with headline rates to Cellular of HK$0.735/minute (half of Skype). Now I know that you only get that rate if you use the whole $20 or $50 card in one go, but if that's your calling pattern it's a much better deal than Skype, and you can use it from any phone, not just your home broadband system.

I meant SIP, but for some VoIP = SIP.

Notice though that Jakarta calls at 0.4 is more expensive than Skype.

Some people use PDAs for phones and they can run Mobile Skype, and some mobile phones also run Skype.
