So there IS potential grief from buying a no-name built to order one instead of a Dell/HP/IBM/Acer type of desktop?

What say you, lowlight? Do your family and close friends need to bring h/w + drivers+OS related problems before you from time to time?

Au contraire, HKF, there is little "grief" from buying an assembled PC. As long as you do your 'homework' before deciding to plonk down good money on it. Most shops in Wanchai or Shamshuipo have pre-configured selections that you can wholly adopt or tinker around with a bit. Ask a knowledgeable shop assistant who knows what he is talking about and can ahem, advise you on your purchase. Best sources for information would be computer magazines like PC Magazine, or Maxumim PC. Sites like www.CNET.com, and www.dell.com. You'd get an idea on prices and possible configuration options from Dell.

Good luck.
