Sunday Prepaid for Long Distance

I Skype my LD calls out. Use Sunday Prepaid for local mobile. As a backup to Skype's choppy service I may have to use Sunday to make calls to N. America. ie Toronto, Washington DC and San Fran. Does anyone know what the night time rate is approximatly? Stated another way if I get a $48 local card as a backup will that be enough for a one hour conference call back to N. America?

Unless you really need to call from your mobile why don't you register your landline with 0060 or similar?

0060 will charge you HK$0.38 per minute to the US off peak (unless you get on their promo list in which case it is currently HK$0.19 (i.e. the same price as Skype and far better quality)).

I use Peoples prepaid and they have free idd to States and a couple other countries. It's not really free, they charge local call charges

What is a promo list? I have a prepaid Sunday SIM. Also can someone explain what IDD is?

Bought $48 HK Sunday SIM from MongKok vendor.

Used 32 mins so far and voice mail costs me $5HK per month. Can someone help me deduct if I have enough on my card to conduct a 1 hour teleconf to SFran USA tonight? I can go out and get an add voucher if it is not enough. I heard they are ava at 7/11?

I see. So your landline probably has the owner's name on it. If you are staying for a bit then it may be worth asking if your landlord would be willing to register for cheaper IDD (International Direct Dialing) rates with say 0060, 0080, 1507 in return for you leaving an additional deposit.

Disco, I will check with the landlord but take a look at this:

http://www.sunday.com/portal/common/...p?fldr_id=3189

Reads "tariff" (why dont they jsut say charge) is $1.60/min. Does that mean I pay $1.60 HK per min? That is the "all in" rate and no other charges?

The small print at the bottom implies that you also have to pay local airtime.
