If you want to try something new try Zooomr http://beta.zooomr.com/home - dubbed as "Flickr on steroids".

PhilE has a spectacular aura aboutPhilE has a spectacular aura about
DB - think there is a 2GB monthly limit on the pro account. Not really an issue for me as I don't upload every photo I take - just the interesting or good ones. Things I like:

- Good upload tools including ability to send from mobile phone/via email
- Good blog integration
- Easy to send slideshows etc to friends
- Huge community of other photographers and great tagging and grouping concepts
- Due to its size there are quite a lot of 3rd party tools (e.g. screensavers for the Mac and PC that flick through either your own collections or other people's favourites). Haven't used the printing facilities yet (some are US centric), but you can get books, posters and DVD backups at reasonable prices).

A few downsides or improvements I can think of (minor to me) are:

- Security concepts require other viewers to be registered with the site - so either everyone can see your photos or if you feel they are sensitive, you need friends/ relatives to register first
- Slide shows are a fixed size (bit on the smallish side)
- Can't search the database by EXIF criteria (as far as I know) - bit of a geeky requirement, but if, say, you're thinking of buying a particular SLR lens and want to see other people's results this is quite useful (think pbase has it).

Yes Flickr looks good. Picassa is very well designed too except for the fact that photos that you want to keep private are not really private if you know the url. I need to compare the benefits of Flickr pro over basic. Thanks for the advice all.

Why not get your own domain and install a version of menalto's gallery?

I am now using Gallery. I now need some advice. I would like any notes that I attach to the EXIF data in the photos to appear in the uploaded version but can't figure it out. The fields Title, Subject, Keywords and Comments are all useable but none of these display after uploading to Gallery. Any ideas anyone?
