Calling all head-fi junkees! (high-end headphones)

Greetings all! Just wanted to see if there were any other members on this forum that are addicted to the head-fi hobby.

Also, does anyone have any recommendations to get mid to high end head-fi products?

I have a few recommendations, though I have yet to visit these places:

Headphones

http://www.headphonehk.com/- Kingsound Audio in Kowloon (has a wide assortment of headphones and amps)

http://mingo-hmw.com/ - wide slection of headphones and amps (Mong Kok)

DACs

http://www.diykits.com.hk/ - home of the famous Zhalou DAC and other brands (Kowloon)

Anyone else have anything to add?

Sounds good. I'd be happy with a set of entry-level Shures myself.

These are calling my name...

However, if you're looking for a closed can with a little more life, I suggest the AKG 81DJ. Its a supra-aural headphone that costs under a $100 U.S.

They can be purchased at Mingo's place in Kowloon I believe.

I've bought most of my headphones from either Kingsound or the Tak Fat Shopping Arcade (德發商場), 6E Nelson Street, Mongkok. There is also the Yau Shing Commercial Centre (友誠商業中心) 51 Sai Yeung Choi St, Mong Kok, which contains a few hifi stores where headphones can be found.

I'm trying to resist buying a hybrid head amp at the moment. For Chinese tube stuff, Apliu Street and Grandcastle Commercial Building(添置商業中心)
2T Sai Yeung Choi Street South, are worth a visit.

Wow. Thanks for the info. I'm in the market for a new amp, preferably solid state, but i could handle a hybrid (as I have no experience rolling tubes).

Can you recommend any good shops for amps and dacs? And what kind of amps have you come across?

Entry level? I think those are near to the top of the line of IEMs...only surpassed by those custom made/fitted IEMs.

Wow i'm really glad I found this post. At first I thought I just had a weird headphone fetish, but now I realise there are others just like me. I have fours pairs and really can't justify any more.....which makes me quite sad considering on reading this post I have fallen for the AKG's. Sooner or later those old skool Sennheiser HD25's have to be replaced....;-). Thanks for the advice and links......
