I'm in love the Bose Quiet Comfort 3 I got for my birthday. Best present ever!
They're incredibly comfortable, the sound is great, it's utter luxury on the ears....

Zakyn: How do you feel the MS-1s stack up against the SR-80s? The Alessandros are going for $99.99 US including shipping direct from Alessandro. I can get the SR-80s from Kingsound in Mongkok for $780. From what I hear, the SR-80s have better bass reproduction and brighter highs. Some people actually consider the exaggerated highs of the SR-80s to be painful. The better bass response is a strong selling point IMO. I just picked up some Audio Technica Pro700s that retail for $1300 (approx) here for about $800. Unfortunately, I have to wait for my mom to bring 'em back from Austria...

When in doubt :-) Head fi

I actually tested both of them quite a bit before settling on the MS1, but mainly because I feel the MS1 suits my music tastes, jazz being brighter and the bass were still enough for me. Then you can pad roll as well (Bowl is what I like along with the huge GS1K Pads for the ultra wide sound stage)

What amp are you using just wondering? Since I feel the sound will vary quite a bit depending on your amp.

Cheers

Got my MS1s a few months ago. Using 'em with a PA2V2. Considering a MINIRA1 amp right now.

Hope you like the MS1. I do :-)

I'm considering picking up a Porta Pro for work, Can't lug those Grados around as much as I like to think they are portable.

The Grados are no good outdoors because of the open design. When people start yelling around you, it hurts when you have open cans on, since it just gets REALLY loud with the peaks that occur across the frequency range.

I love the MS1s! I also now own a PA2V2, a custom built CMoy, a USB DAC cable (16-bit), AKG K412P, Sennheiser PX100 Retro Edition, Audio-Technica ATH-SJ5 and some Sony EX-91LPs, which I used every day. They're my favorites. Now I need a 500 gb hard disk so I can encode all my music into FLAC.
