Do the 500's come with a dual connection for plane travel?

No, just the standard 3.5mm mini-jack, plus 6.5mm adapter.

Is the sound quality from the dual sockets on planes that good? If not, then I think the E500 would be overkill.

It also comes with two lengths of extension leads: 3' and 9''. I think these options are great. You can easily adapt the E500s to plug straight into your MP3 player, plug into your MP3 player's remote, or for home hi-fi use.

Those plane adapters can be bought for about 10 mosquitoes from those electronic component stores.

So has anyone bought any amplification recently?

I bought an Original Master amp and a Great March usb DAC. I'll let you know how they sound after some burn-in. As of right now, everything sounds clearer with greater detail.

I'm trying to find a good deal on the new 2005 Beyerdynamic DT 990 headphones. I saw them at Kingsound for $2880, which is a good price, but has anyone seen them around for any cheaper?

Cheers.

Keeping the thread alive I'm in urgent need of some phones for the gym and looks like the Sens CX-300 are good value. Someone mentioned them earlier. To save trekking high and low has does anyone know which store stocks them?

I know Kingsound stocks them (in Mongkok)

But a word of caution: These are in-ear phones, and as such might not be the best for the gym (especially if you're running, etc.). Reason is, when t he cord moves, or you move, or the phones move ever so slightly in your ear, there can be quite a lot of noise, similar to when you stick your fingers in your ear and make ever so slight movements. Some people say it's not a problem and others hate it.

Also, the Creative EP-630's are a good sounding, cheaper option to the senns. they look exactly the same, and are manufactured by the same company (called Fosters), but use different drivers. I have them myself, and they're perfectly good enough for me. should cost about 190hkd and you can get them in some stores at the wanchai computer centre or mongkok computer centre. As a matter of fact, they might even have the senns at the computer centres too..

Good luck, but I'd think about other possible options for jogging headphones.
