| Cya, Welcome. You speak Vietnamese well? There are quite a number of Vietnamese joining this thread, but we still can't get everyone together yet. Many wanted to get together, but when we actually set up a date, not so many responses....don't know why. |

| Hi all.. I'm Chinese-Vietnamese from Australia. I was reading the other thread looking for Viet ingredients to cook for my boyfriend and I. I am still having trouble finding fresh Viet rice noodles to make Phó... I found the instant rice noodles but my bf said that it was too thin... Can anyone shed some light so I can cook up a storm for my bf... I found basil leaves...err... Lá Hue... at the Welcome Supermarket in the Midlevels.. and also in the wet markets around Cage street. Not the same as in Australia like my dad grows... but it's better then nothing.Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe I found rice paper sheets in the Wing On Dept. Store. I have a craving for Banh Coun!! Yummo! |

Btw, anyone knows whether there is cheap airline to fly from HK back to Sai Gon? I am thinking of having fun in SG for Xmas. What's the normal air fare for the return ticket? Oh, I love banh cuon. Definitely have to try it over there. See ya soon |

| vietnamese community in Hk? You can fly with United Airlines, from HK - Saigon. That is the cheapest one, what you can find. Cost around 1760HKD + tax. You will arrive SG around 10pm, and fly back at 6am. No wonder it's cheap. But If you don't mind to get up early, it's a good offer... I am looking for a vietnamese community in HK. Do some one know about it? Is there one? I am really missing my vietnamese food and just hang around with vietnamese people. I am German - Vietnamese. |
