and by then u might not want to work in hk.. the hours are not that great and the pay prob not as attractive as in the states for some of the roles, e.g. hedge funds.

but in the states, i pay so much tax and i'll get lonely when she is gone. after tax, i suspect i will be paid roughly the same in both places. and what matters the most is not the pay but where i can find happiness. it all depends on the people.

8-) well, so its all a matter or priority right.
and since u said so, then just come and find a job. why u have to be concerned about pay now when u can't control that aspect of life. its not going to happen overnight, and things are unpredictable as u shld know if u are in the frontline of the industry.

interestingly, its quite rare these days to see financial ppl sentimentally attached to a country, place, job, and even partner. especially when one gets older.

what matters the most is not the pay, but it does matter to a certain degree. of course, i would love to maximize my salary to the highest possible level to fund my own trading.

i am not that old. i am 23 yr old. well, i guess that's the way i am. i love only one woman. (she is not pretty, and i had very attractive mixed and chinese girlfriends)

sometimes, things are unpredictable, but most of the times, if you are smart enough, you won't have problems dealing with the unpredictables.

i like to plan everything ahead.

While it's nice to have goals and dreams, things change in the timeframe you're talking about so you should enjoy the things you have now.
From others' comments and your own about what's important - you should consider yourself fortunate. You are still young and have the right foundations - education and language skills to do well. So I reiterate KIA - don't sweat the small stuff!
