| | Is this Apartment a good deal? Greetings all. Long time lurker, first time poster. My friends and I have just arrived a few days ago, and we have been apartment hunting. We have a found a beautiful, furnished apartment in North Point at Island Place High Rise.
The apartment is 900+ sq feet, furnished with 2 beds, sofa, dinner table and chairs, oven, washer, closets, etc., plus has a pretty nifty pool. The apartment was quoted at HKD 15,500 per month. We would be splitting the rent between the three of us.
My question: is this a reasonable price for such an apartment? Could such a place be found in Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, or Tai Koo for a similar price?
Thanks in advance for any support. We honestly are not sure if this is a good deal or not. Thanks again.

| | | Just found out the apartment is 700 sq feet, not 900 sq feet as previously thought. Going to take a look tomorrow elsewhere and unless we're surprised, we will take this apartment for 15,500 in North Point. | |

| | | I think its a little pricey as well, but in the end, we took it today. The building and facilities were the nicest we have seen for our price range (after looking in North Point, Kornhill, Kornville and Quarry Bay). Basically, we're tired of looking and it was the only apartment that we have seen out of 12 where all 3 of us could agree on.
Thanks for your help and suggestions....they were much appreciated.

| | | You can find 700sqf (3 bedrooms) for 6000-7000, if you don't mind a bit of travelling.
But then you have to add the travelling cost and time from that village.
But in villages there is no management fee. The public pools are between $17 and $20 per visit. The beaches on the islands (Cheung Chau, Lamma, Peng Chau, etc.) are free.
