interactive/new media jobs?

I've been working in NY as an interactive producer (I make web sites happen, from a project management/product development standpoint) for about 7 years, with 10 years in the industry. My husband is very interested in making a move to Hong Kong, and he has an outstanding offer, but I've been looking around on a few job boards and I'm getting kind of discouraged about my ability to find similar work at a similar salary to what I earn currently (US $100K++). I have no trouble getting offers in NY, and I'm currently employed as executive producer at an industry-leading media web site, but I'm just not seeing listings for similar positions.

Does anyone have experience working in HK in this industry? Are my fears founded? Am I looking at the wrong boards?

I could probably work in a project manager or product developer or business analysis role with more traditional IT, but I'm not as experienced there, and my qualifications are all hands on work experience (my degree is in social sciences.) I'm definitely concerned about losing the seniority I've worked hard to build up as well.

I should also mention that I don't speak a second language, unless you count swearing in Spanish.

Thanks in advance for any advice or insight.

hi there,

if you have good skill then it's possible to get a job here,
especially if your Flash Actionscript proficiency is very high.

The boss here expect you to know everything about new media, video editing, sound, html, css, good in Flash.

this is how i got my job here as Senior Multimedia Designer.

I wouldent expect any starting salary of US100K++ though, or even close to it.
One way would be to setup your own biz here, thats what i did, since salary here is no where near what i made back home.

Hi there, would recommend that you get in touch with HR dept at Star TV, there's a burgeoning interactive media and wireless division that's just taking off - we recently set up a deal with China Mobile that we plan to use a model for other wireless / interactive initiatives.

Not sure if they are actively looking at this point, but seems right up your alley.

Feel free to pm me if you have any questions and best of luck in your search.

Ajay
