I'll check my contacts in HK.
Also if reasonably straightforward I put you in touch with Aussie contact.

I can do NZ but not sure if there's much difference with Aussie returns.

If you need help let me know I can get you in touch with an ACA firm in Sydney where one of the partners and a few of his employees travel to HK on business regularly so at least you can get the face to face contact.

this might be a dumb question, but as I am moving in 6 weeks from Sydney to HKG, its pertinent ----

WHY do you need to do an Aussie tax return if you're living and working in Hong Kong?

cheers and thanks

I'm not an Aussie tax expert but here's what I know:
if you have any income earnt in Australia then you are bound to file a return for that. Also, if you are still deemed to be an Aussie tax resident you MAY need to file on income you have earnt elsewhere - however, depending on the type of income you may or may not have to pay additional tax.
If you have such a situation I recommend that you consult a tax expert.

I need to still pay tax on property income and bank account income and some new b*stard business tax that you have to pay in advance for investment income.

Just want to give it all to some poor soul and pick it up all freshly ironed.

Still considering options and gathering paperwork. Is it due October? (trying to forget)
