Question airport customs & anti-piracy

Hi, I'm to start working in Hong Kong next week. Can anyone detail to me the airport customs or applicable import laws? I'm specifically interested on the maximum number of cigarette packs and liquor bottles we could bring along everytime we enter Hong Kong.

Also, how strict are the authorities on anti-piracy (for audio and movie)? I might also be bringing in some CDs and DVDs. Thanks.

I'm all for the idea of helpful forums, but questions such as your first can be answered instantly by Google. This was the first result for "hong kong customs cigarettes":

Piracy? They are not strict at the airport. You could always label all your media along the lines of "family photos 2003" if you wanted to be paranoid

Thanks a lot, KnowItAll. The site never crossed my mind as I'm too preoccupied by other stuff.

These days they only target Middle Eastern looking Types, Indians, Pakistanis etc. Also it depends on your appearance. The local customs are a bunch of dumb guys anyway.

That's not true - I regularly see them pulling backpacker/hippy/traveller types (yes, white ones) who are just in from Bangkok...
