reverse cycle A.C. I have found a place to live in HK and the landlord is going to put some new split airconditioners in our apt. I asked for reverse cycle A.C so we would have some warm air in the cooler months. My agent says that that is not possible and hardly needed. What do you guys think? I have two small children and can imagine when it is outside 10 cels. inside it will be really cold! Is it so strange to ask for a reverse cycle a.c.?? Sonja (in 4 weeks in HK!)

An AC with a heating element is not common ... Easier to buy portable heaters during Winter - the serious chill lasts for about 4-6 weeks.

Never seen them here. They would be expensive if you could find one. I've always relied on small portable heaters to heat me up; don't like the idea of a high wall mounted unit heating my head.

Reverse cycle AC more commonly known as a Heat Pump. Readily available in the market, but much more expensive, say 20%, than than typical AC.
