Places to work/study from

I am writing a thesis in my spare time for a degree that I've been pursuing part time. I can't stand being at home all the time, I've looked into local university libraries but they have limited hours during summer weekends. I don't want to be seen doing this at my office. I've been to the HK Central library but it was crowded and teaming with kids. Coffee shops are also crowded and it's hard to find a power outlet. Does anyone know of other places worth considering? Or are there any private libraries around?

I've been writing my thesis at the Central Library in the 9th floor. The place provides power outlets and separate tables, and in generally it is a quiet place to work without being worried about kids.

@home is the best place unless you like public restroom (filthy), lugging your laptop all over the place, not being able to drink or eat in a library.
