hi,

looking for this information on the internet is impossible so im hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.

If i was studying in china and had a student visa valid up to 31st june 06, If i am able to enter china before this date and then apply for a tourist one once i get to china?

And does anyone know the cost of a getting an express (same day) tourist visa in hong kong for a british passport holder?

For what I know you cannot change your visa type. If you enter as a student you can extend it, but still as a student and bringing docs from your school.
You should exit China and then re-enter with a tourist visa.
For the cost of Visa in HK just google it.

I think at the CTS (China Travel Service) for a single entry tourist visa (class L) issued on the same day you will have to pay 480 HKD.

If you apply for the visa in the morning you can collect it later at 6 p.m.
