Learn 2 make your own. Saves $$$$. I went to Pac Coffee in Central. For $14 HK got something the size of a shot glass, well a bit bitter. Was shocked.

That stuff is called "espresso" and, as Italian, I think it's even too much what they put inside. PC and Starbucks espresso should be called "espresso lungo". We also have "normale" and "ristretto" (just a sip).
Real espresso should be served in a small cup, should have a thick brown foam, so, when you add sugar it has to stand up for a couple of seconds ant then fall. The consistency is quite oily. The content of caffeine of espresso is the lowest compared to other kind of coffees.
No Starbucks in Italy. Wonder why?

Thanks for the "Eurodite" response but I said I ordered coffee and it came in a cup about (slightly larger) than a shot glass (see orig post meant bit bigger not bitter). If I ordered an expresso I would have specifically said so.

I misunderstood, sorry.
Anyway, your idea of making coffee at home is good and it's what I do instead of going to SB, PC, Mac and so on.
The best coffee with foam is made with a machine made from Bialetti called Brikka. It has a special valve that creates strong pressure and makes a coffee just like an Italian espresso.

I just know how to make espresso. For the other types of coffee I'm extremely ignorant. I'm Italian
