HP iPAQ rw6828 Anyone used one?

I have been thinking of buying the 02 Atom but just saw the HP iPAQ rw6828 at Broadway.

http://h50025.www5.hp.com/hpcom/hk_e...91summary.html

It looks like it has similar functions to the 02 and I prefer the look of it. Just wondering if anyone has tried it and any idea whether the HP or 02 is better?

Thanks.

if i'm not mistaken, most winmobile pda/phones are made by one company called HTC.

personally, i've grown tired of using Windows CE/Pocket PC/ Winmobile devices. but that's another story.

looking at the specs of the hp / atom and atom exec... apart from the CPU speed bump of the exec, they're pretty much the same. color is different but the body shape looks the same as well. the buttons look slightly different though.

looks like the hp rw6820 and the o2 atom are just a rebadged clone of each other... from glancing at the specs briefly.

my only issue i see at the moment would be, which has better support among the two brands?

Have used the 6828 - a buddy has had one for the best part of 3 weeks now. very stable, nice toy. I have also heard a lot of disgruntled atom users complain of instability, frequent crashes etc, which seem to be absent in the 6828. I agree that physically, and on paper, the atom an 6828 seem to be the same, but none the less the 6828 seems to be more stable. I have not used the atom, so i have a biased view, i guess

admitted, the O2 Atom was very unstable in the beginning. but O2 has done a lot to get out of that desaster and released several firmware updates in the meanwhile. the latest 3rd firmware update has done a lot to make it a quite useable device.

in terms of performance the O2 Atom is a little bit faster than the HP RW6826. i did run a spb benchmark on the O2 Atom with the 3rd firmware update and it was slightly faster than the same spb benchmark created by some website review.

but i agree with the other ones tha the O2 service sucks. fortunately, for over 7 months of usage it was not necessary for me to visit them yet, but i know several customers complaining about them.

if service is not such a big issue for you, then you can take a look at the latest O2 Atom Exec. it comes with a faster 520 MHz processor (extra 104 MHz) and 192 MB ROM (extra 64 MB) to e.g. store more programs into the device without outsourcing them on a memory card. it comes with a too thick leather case and a useless IR keyboard in an extra carton. some dealers offer to remove it from the set and then you can save a few hundred HKD on the retail price.

hey talldude, it somehow looks like we are interested in the same technical stuff. so don't you want to join some pinoy events some day? then i can show you the O2 Atom Exec as well... but it's not for sale - at least not now and my old O2 Atom probably will go to dicesix already

Newer premises and plastic jackets for the O2 Service Centre doesn't seem to have improved their level of service. I would like to hear how HP perform.
