Unhappy what are my options

Can anyone help provide some advice as to what my options for obtaining a work visa are based on my situation...

I applied for an investment visa using a consultant. They were useless and I was refused.

After meeting with immigration personally and handing new supporting information to them they agreed to review but I shortly cancelled in order to accept sponsorship.

The sponsorship was unsuccessful, yet the repsonse from immigration (verbal only) was I'm ok and so is the company but no?!

What options do I have now? I'm here with a partner and we know the change in dependant visa law but would not like to bring marriage forward for the wrong reasons.

Any other people with the same experience? Would another sponsorship or investment visa work? Or as a friend advises, is it wise to apply for a work visa in China and then come here? I've even been told "eventually they crack and let you in, just keep trying", but how long do you need to try?!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

sorry to hear about your rejection.
that happened me too...
no proper agent would suggest you to do investment visa since the HK economy is a lot better and they make the investment visa harder to get *they dun desperately need u*

after my rejections, i went to a lot of agents and have a lot more ideas on what to do next, as my agent really fcuked up my apps and I cannot do reconsideration that soon.

btw, you didn't happen to use the same agent as i did right.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't an investment visa hold a requirement of a large investment, around $1,000,000 +++ USD??? A golfing buddy of mine told me it was $6.5mil USD...not sure how true that is.

You are confusing Investment Visas - which require a plausible business plan employing local people and contributing to the local economy, but without any fixed investment criteria - and the Capital Investment Entry Scheme which simply requires you to invest HK$6.5M or so in HK property or stocks. They are entirely separate things.

Yup, that's the case.

My take on a investment visa in HK is they look closely at RTE one is providing. A retail location with 3-4 employees is bound to do a lot better than an office with some part-timers.
Average retail spot with 3 employees would cost around $1,500,000 HKD to build out and stock + or -.

Hey Pondok,

So are you still waiting to do a reconsideration or have you sorted yourself yet?

I havent spoken to anyone yet but I see my options as

1. leaving and doing a CELTA to get sonsorship as a NETY teacher on return
2. getting married and applying for a dependant visa
3. asking my sponsors if one of their China or Korea offices can sponsor me but I get placed in HK

Either way I am assuming what hasnt done me any favours is being in HK while the application have taken place. Do I need to be away while I apply?

Does anyone know if at the minute I need to cool off the applications for a period of time?

Too many questions I know but when you just dont know....

Betty,
AFAIK, it's very hard to get investment visa unless you are planning to employ 3-4 people, let alone reconsideration.
If you really want them to reconsider, you must have a very solid planning or otherwise 2 rejections wouldn't look good on your history with the HK immd.

It'd be best if you apply employment visa from overseas if you are planning to do it this way.

Getting married is the only way to go imo. are you ready for it?

I don't think there is any cool down minutes for the application. They will always refer back to the documents you submitted unless it's a different case, e.g. investment visa application to employment or dependant visa.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I have no idea about this visa stuff but wanted to say that opening a retail biz in HK is as good as throwing your money down the drain, if the number of removal sales in my neighborhood is any indication.
