Hi all - I'm looking to pick up a bit of basic Cantonese before I move in November. None of the books I've seen on Amazon have had particularly good reviews, but if anyone can recommend a book/cd that you've liked I'd appreciate it.

Lonely Planet has an easy-to-read Cantonese Phrasebook that covers lots of basic expressions. You get good mileage for your efforts, so it might be an ideal starting point before moving on to advanced books.
