| | | Well for a start you can set your line not to accept calls with CLI blocked. I've had this on for years, never get spam fax calls and very rarely get spam voice calls.
From PCCW's website:
""Block-the-Blocker" enables you to reject anonymous callers who choose not to transmit their phone numbers. Instead, they are diverted to a recorded message, telling the callers that their calls will not get through until they show their numbers.
To activate: Press[*][7][6]
To cancel: Press [#][7][6]
For customers using a single line with two telephone numbers, activate "Block-the-Blocker" for the second number by the following steps:
To activate: Press[*][#][*][7][6]
To cancel: Press[*][#][#][7][6]"

| | | PCCW:
* "Out of area / Unavailable" and "Long Distance" calls cannot be blocked by Block-the-Blocker.
the only problem is when ppl call you from overseas using IP phone or similar IP calling card, some of these cards do show a HK telephone number start with 3, however, some of these cards will hide the HK number, in which case, the overseas caller will be receiving the same message asking them to 'unblock' their number. To do that, the overseas caller then need to dial 1357 before your HK number. errr...sounds a bit complicated for the overseas caller, right??? | |

| | | You can either call, fax or mail the company that sent you the fax to opt-out from their database. Just say that you do not wish to receive any promotional materials from them and/or from any of their partners. | |

My guess is they have a PC that spends all day plodding through a database and is set not to receive any faxes.
Maybe a good old fashioned letterbomb is the answer | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 06:08 AM. | Partners |
