alternative medicines to treat dad's colon cancer?

My father has late stage colon cancer, and has given up on chemotherapy. I'm flying him here for the month in the hopes of trying alternative therapies/medicines. However I just moved here recently myself and am not familiar with good chinese doctors/acupuncturists/chi gong masters etc. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Any input appreciated. thanks

There is a street in Sheung Wan (op Park n Shop on Queens Rd) called the Chinese Medicine street that might be a good place to start. Worth a go - completely different but a guy I work with had a motorbike accident a few months ago and was left with nerve damage and couldn't move one arm at all - within 1 week of trying a Chinese Doctor his arm is almost back to normal - amazing. Good Luck!

I am told that the Indian breathing yogic technique of Pranayama also helps in certain cases of cancer. I am not aware of a practioner here but you must try & research it further to see if it can help your dad.
Lets hope that alternate medicine helps ur dad.

cancer

My dad had cancer last year. This is what he did....
Most importantly is for him to be possitive, eat macrobiotic food (strictly) or if he can not tolerate it eat lots of vegetable per day. Bes vegetable to eat, tomato, spinash, no saturate fat oil (even when you use olive oil-there are 2 types), raw vegetable and detox -colonic irregation (but check with the doctor), raw carrot is good too.
Reseach macrobiotic food, one of my unclees survive from last stage cancer because he was strict on macro.
This is only from my experience, I'm not a doctor.
I know how you feel. But do stay possitive and do not give up!

Cancer

I had a few cancer patients quite close to me. Most of them (including my father) are gone to a better place I hope.

Now the good news is that there is a cancer survivor among my friends. She is the mother of two teenagers and was given a 3-6 months life expectancy after she was diagnosed that was at least 5 years ago. She is fine now as far as I can tell.

She used heavy doeses of a a specific type of ganoderma lucidum (Chinese name is linghzhi) only found in Taiwan for several months until she was cured.

Be aware that anybody can sell you linghzi but you will have to find the good one (it is quite expensive too). Also if you get the good one (the one that works) it does not mean it will have positive effects in this case. In simple words, good linghzi will "purify the blood". Can it repair damaged tissues and stop the disease from spreading in this specific case I do not know.

BTW if you any of you can source proper ganoderma lucidum please let me know I would need some samples for medical reseach purpose.

Friend of mine took me down to a Traditional Chinese Medicine practioner in Sheung Wan today. I was given three packages of stuff to boil up...I later noticed a number of worms and scorpions in them, but I still drank them down. If this cures the terrible bout of bronchitis I've had, I'll be going there more often.

The general way of approaching medicine now in China is that for not severe problems locals use Chinese Traditional medicine that is slow and light. It needs time.
For severe problem (and I guess cancer it's severe) locals trust Western medicine.
I'd use both methods.
