You're better off with a wired handsfree Becky...I have a Scala-500 which is supposed to be one of the best and it sucks.

Difficult one to answer as each make of phone has its own way of responding to the push-to-talk and volume buttons. Some phones use a 3.5mm jack plug others 2.5mm and then there are the rectangular multi-pin plugs.
But definately don't bother with Bluetooth handsfree headsets especially if you want it to listen to music as the A2DP technology is still not fully reliable.

I have both wired and bluetooth headsets. To be honest, I prefer the wired headset. Maybe I'm dumb or my ear is too big, the bluetooth keeps falling off my ear. And this always happens when I'm driving....Rather irritating! So now bluetooth is sitting and collecting dust

Not sure I agree about the handset depends what you are doing. Driving yes wired no problem but if you are are moving around and dont want to carry the phone or want the phone in your bag bluetooth is great. I have a blueant x3 which works pretty well with nokia and o2 phones but have problems with my laptop (think this is maybe my bluetooth card, it was very cheap). No good for music though but ok for phone, skype etc (once connected). The main problem with the the bluetooth i find is i went for the smallest i could find as I though it would be carried in a pocket and find the microphone too far away but some wired sets are similar.

You only need one BT headset. The headset can only be paired with one device at any time (in most cases). When you want tp switch to another phone you need to switch off the headset, then switch it on in pairing mode (see the manual) and pair with the other phone. Sounds complicated but it's really easy.

As I mentioned bluetooth no good for music as its mono for a start and so tend to use wired headphones. Though find the battery life is not good enough for listening to music on my phone so tend to use a small mp3 SD player which has 24 hr playtime.
One of the things I like about the blueant x3 is it can be paried with upto 3 devices at once and you can switch between them so can have it paired with my laptop on channel 1 and mobile on 2 and switch between them if I get a call. It takes a bit of getting used to but works well once you do.
