You should be able to plug a standard Ultra Wide SCSI drive in there. Not sure who makes them anymore.. but you might have luck at one of the computer centers.

Not sure if you'd be able to plug an IDE controller into the server and use IDE drives... figure it might not be worth the hassle for a bleeding edge system like yours.

Ok. Just saw your message.

If you really do want to use that server, you'll need whats called a SCSI drive. They're fairly expensive (usually 50-200% more than IDE drives).

Might not be worth the cost, given the type of server you have.

........cheers,

oops, forgetten about scsi drives.

I don't have the server, but from memory the
HD interface board was not a standard scsi I
have seen. Hence, I thought I would need a HD
carrier.

thanks again

A quick look revealed that standard IDE cable does not fit into disk interface board.

I checked the net, but this type is no longer manufactured.

I guess I need to buy a carrier or interface to convert standard HD?
- are these carriers / interface expensive?
- where to source?

cheers.
you might want to think twice. From my experience, Compaq harddisk mounting cases are only sold by Compaq .

You might want to try this site. Never use them before but they might carry the parts you want :
