I am Australian, and my fiance (HK born resident) has now just completed her Australian Permanent Residency visa through De Facto relationship with me.

We are getting married in December in HK. Now, we both have worked and lived in Australia for the last 2 years and have around $600,000HKD in our Australian bank account. I have no problems opening a HK bank account now and start sending cash to it.

We plan to move to HK in January permanently and purchase an established restaurant. We will live for free in her parent's home.

The issue is sponsoring me in HK as Dependant. She has no employment history in HK, and only went back to HK for 1 week this entire year (1 month ago).

How am I going to prove she can support me?

I am not sure if she should buy the business first, though this will take our savings away, or do we have enough cash in the bank account to prove financial security???

I would not worry about the proof part too much to begin with. Send in the standard dependants "I'm married .. until death do us apart" thing and wait for IMMD to respond.

In most cases, they start stressing over the finance part only when there are other parts of the application which raise red flags.
